Hi, I’m LaKeysha—licensed therapist, Army vet, proud Charlottean, dog mom, and someone who’s had to learn (the hard way) what it means to take up space in a world that tells you to shrink. I’m a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ clients.
Before I became a therapist, I was the person people came to for support—at work, at home, in my community. I was strong, dependable, high-functioning—and silently falling apart. Like so many of my clients, I’ve navigated trauma, burnout, grief, and identity shifts that cracked me open in ways I never saw coming. What saved me wasn’t powering through—it was learning to pause, reach out, and choose myself.
That’s what I offer in therapy: a space where you don’t have to keep performing strength. A space where you can be tired, unsure, angry, hopeful, overwhelmed, or numb—and still be held with compassion.
I work with adults who’ve been carrying too much for too long. People who are showing up for everyone else while feeling like there’s no room left for themselves. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety that won’t turn off, family dynamics that drain you, or stress that keeps piling up—I’m here to help you come back to yourself.
My approach is warm, real, and collaborative. We’ll untangle what’s heavy, challenge what’s outdated, and build tools that support the version of you who’s ready to feel more grounded, more empowered, and more like yourself again.
Clients describe therapy with me as honest, supportive, and human. I’m not here to fix you—I’m here to sit beside you while you do the brave work of reclaiming your life. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, offer steady guidance, and make space for every part of your experience, even the ones you usually hide.
We’ll talk through what hurts, explore what’s possible, and celebrate the moments where you choose yourself—without guilt or apology. I believe healing is a daily practice, not a destination. And you don’t have to do it alone.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I bring both lived experience and professional care to the work of identity support and affirmation. I work with adults (18+) navigating:
– Anxiety, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm
– Depression and low motivation
– Family and relationship stress
– LGBTQIA+ identity exploration and support
– Stress, burnout, and people-pleasing patterns
– Self-worth and boundary-setting
My clients are often caregivers, community builders, and high-functioners who are tired of pretending they’re fine. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
